“I am excited to expand beyond traditional social media with Maven, where I have the freedom to share music and video thanks to Maven’s technology,” says Houk. “I am looking forward to offering my fans a more substantive interaction as I share my musical knowledge and learn from them in return.”
The Scumfrog features original and shared stories and updates on Houk and his music. There also is a members-only room where fans can download the DJ mixes that are keeping The Scumfrog on the front line of the underground scene.
Houk specializes in underground flavored remixes of artists like Kylie Minogue, New Order, and Annie Lennox, and received acclaim for his collaborations writing and producing techno-oriented works with David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper and Sting. Based in New York City, Houk has toured the world and is a staple at the annual Burning Man Festival. He hosts a series of New York City club nights called MBTS (Most Below The Surface), that are launching this summer in London and Barcelona as well.
“At Maven, we are raising up independent publishers, supporting them with the technology they require to expand their reach and directly engage their audiences,” says Maven CEO James Heckman. “Jesse was seeking an outlet where he can more directly engage, inform, and share with his fans. He and Maven are a perfect fit.”
